I get that. I was thinking the same thing as the first photo from this article on AFF: Why Airlines Love European Business Class

The curtains over the seat backs could have been equally transparent in nature as the main curtain.

I wonder why CASA has different requirements for curtains on narrow vs wide bodies?

Indeed, although my past lived experience was the rope worked quite well. Guess it lost its effect after a while…..

The rope needed the divider, and the divider was removed to fit new seats and change the row configuration.

I constantly saw people moving the rope and going through to the front toilet.

Just like we will see people marching through the plastic shower curtain I’m sure. You can’t manage for all idiots

I have a tonne of VA2 flights coming up so will look out for the Temu equipped jets

But as has been mentioned, without the cabin dividers to hide the magnets in, the rope was no longer an option. Capitalism wins.

Maybe they could have put the rope higher across the floating divider? (The floating divider ends would need to have a flat surface so that the rope can be attached to it)

They could even sew a fabric sign that hangs from the rope, e.g. "Business Class only beyond this point: no, that's not you..."

I wish Qantas would install curtains. Although the crew announce to Economy passengers to use the toilets at the back of the plane, a lot of the passengers (especially the first couple of rows) ignore it and use the Business class toilet at the front
