Click here for a list of current Virgin Australia discount codes:

A while back VA had a discount code that could be used for (almost) any domestic booking.

Are there any discount codes that work at the moment?

Thanks!

I match your 3% and up it to 6%.

Yeah. No issues whatsoever if you don't have any promo codes to use. As pointed out earlier, best to compare both TopCashback and Cashrewards to see who has the bigger cashback percentage

There's often cashbacks on offer from the various sites, up to 10% recently. I've never had any issues with the cashback until this 10% offer which tracked but was rejected presumably by Virgin for some reason. They're "looking into it".

Did you use it in addition to a promo code, by any chance?

Unless it's VA offering you the cashback I don't think the rejection is "by Virgin" - it's almost always the third party that offers the cashback service..

VA signs agreements with the cashback sites to provide successful online sales leads, VA verifies if it qualifies or not, as do all sites.
Eg, they have to confirm if it was a Long Haul, Short Haul or Domestic category or if it's a cancelled flight or used with a discount code, which wouldn't qualify, normally.
VA then provides agreed % payment to the cashback site, which the cashback site then provides a reduced % of that payment to the customer, us (most of this is process is automated, unless something goes wrong and needs to be manually checked).
Same as how the Velocity e-store works for earning Velocity points, but they convert those successful sales leads $$ into Velocity points, instead.

Thanks for putting this up! I just booked flights (SYD-BNE ret) for my partner travelling in July/Aug and while this was within the "30% sale" period VA just announced, the code took ~$10 off - which is better than nothing and worked out cheaper than the sale price.

Approx $358 (tax and CC fees included) for this trip - which isn't too bad (about $110 more than what we've been paying on average over the last 2-3 years).

Booking the same trip for her in November worked out to about $216 (return) or about $250 once I put her in an exit row ($15 each way because sale) and CC fees - which is still pretty reasonable.

This was booking in Choice (for obvious reasons to the AFF crowd).

You would be able to fly SYD-BNE return for just under $200 if you booked Lite each way (and didn't pay using a CC). This is booking ~3 months in advance so it seems like a pretty good deal to me for travel in the latter half of the year..

Fair - but in this instance on what basis would it be VA "rejecting" it?

It clearly doesn't fit into some of the above categories.

I understand if it doesn't meet the T&Cs of cashback but I was more suggesting that if it ticked all the boxes - where is the rejection coming from. Your explanation does make a lot of sense though..

Was the fare booked during a happy hour sale? They use promo codes for those, and I've seen them both rejected and approved.
