have not fly Virgin for sometimes now shocked to see prices from Mel-ADL :( Why was it so expensive o_O any disc code I can steal to lower my cost?

Queens birthday holiday, football finals and school holidays in some states = massive yields for QFd and VAd for the next week or so.

This happens every year.

Depending on where you are and when you book, it might be cheaper (or only option) to fly to Asia then back to MEL (crazy I know).

Thanks Saab34, but I had my tickets sorted now.

Best to book very early for school holiday period and AFL grand final period (last weekend of September).

sad day for a person who never really plan ahead :( but thank you Serfty.
I generally plan ahead but also take my 2 year old daughter to Sydney every 2-3 weeks. I don't want to book these trips months in advance and last minute airfares of close to $200 one way if not more are beyond ridiculous.

Been pretty quiet on the code front lately, as well there hasn't been international in happy hour for weeks... any thoughts if something big is coming?

I remember how ADL-MEL used to be between 75 or 86 AUD one way and plenty of them, especially Wednesdays. I am surprised to see how expensive they are now, but again maybe this is just because of the FINAL and mid term break, so it is bad timing. I am not going to do this often for sure!

It's been many years since I've seen a $75 fare from ADL-MEL and most times I travel the VA flights are completely full

It does show how long had I've been flying MEL- ADL before last week eh :)

Edited to add: my youngest has just started going to Uni in Melb this year, hence only now I am looking at the fare. I usually going to ADL from SYD and I still see 125$ fare from SYD as recently as last week when I tried to "plan" a short escape.
