I've been seeing this pretty heavily circulated over facebook from friends, and it seems that VA are offering 30% off full fare flights for the next 3 or so weeks to friends and family of cabin crew.

Travel between 25th August and 17th September, book by 31st of august. Code is KQZ59

I appreciate this might be a bit of a secret so probably recommend keeping it in this forum (probably a stretch posting it here also.)

Argh! I saw this thread the other day but completely forgot it when booking SYD-TSV late last week. Fares weren't cheap either. I wonder if it's worth making another booking using this code and cancelling the other (provided the discount beats the fee).

Hope you rang up and asked for a quote to cancel (or just moved dates). I had a 2nd screen open doing a replica booking to ensure there was a discount applied (even though the little tag showed, don't trust them)

I think you guys are experiencing the common phenomena known as VWNW (Virgin Website Not Working)... we are still on the search for a cure to this...in the meantime please find another way around it.

I'm finding that often the Happy Hour base fare rates (Thursday 4 - 8pm) are better than these promo rates (and with no downside risk if they happen to ask for ID).

For example, last night the Happy Hour ran extended hours - until 11pm. I secured BNE/MEL/BNE flights that were both $159 [saver lite base fare rate] (thus $318 before sale) ended up being $264 in the sale (ignoring carbon offset, GST and booking service fee) - thus a 17% saving. One sector was even a Saver fare (as the Lites had gone in the 48 hours I waited). Had the Saver Lite been available on both sectors, the saving would have been 23%.

Now I agree I was fortunate that my city pairs were part of the sale, as everybody elses may not be.
