Virgin Australia MEL-QLD flights

I'm currently booked on a MEL-OOL flight on 18/06. It was originally booked for last week and that flight was cancelled because of the border restrictions, so I called VA and got myself rebooked on this flight at no extra cost. However, the same border restrictions still remain, so it looks like I'll have to change my flight again but it appears this time that they are not cancelling flights. All MEL-OOL flights on 18/06 except one are showing as normal. Does anyone know why they're still running so many flights daily despite the border restrictions?

Because they might still be flying that flight. / they haven’t gotten around to cancelling it. I can’t even imagine the special hell all the airlines are being put through by these stupid border closures.

If the same fare is available on the new date, they should be able to change you anyway.

It doesn't seem that way. For some reason there are plenty of cheap flights before June 25 but they suddenly go up after that.

Where are you seeing this? Virgin Australia's flight status website shows all but VA731 as normal.

So my flight isn't on the list of cancelled flights. I'm trying to rebook it but the website is throwing out errors for me. I'm thinking about cancelling it for travel credit and rebooking it immediately. Does anyone know if the travel credit arrives immediately?

They’ll also be leaving the flights active as they’ll be hoping border opens by then……
