Butter chicken on MCY - SYD yesterday. OK but not spicy.

The alternative was apparently quiche which all of Row 1 had leaving the 4 in row 2 with Butter chicken.

If you mean a chilli hit when you say spicy, butter chicken normally isn't that kind of curry. People might modify it to do so, but at its base, butter chicken is not meant to be a hot curry. If, by spicy, you mean lots of spices like garlic, ginger etc. then you don't tend to get lots of those in Australia, let alone butter chicken, let alone on board an aircraft.

It is meant to be creamy, which that picture doesn't really show off, or it might be that whatever cream content was in the dish had been frozen, dehydrated, defrosted then split out. But what does it matter - it's an Indian style curry, and most won't lift an eyebrow as long as the taste is there.

Oh? Usually they cater 5/3 with 3 vegetarian. Did the quiche have an additional meat option?;

I'd say bacon or chipolatas, yeah.

From watching the fellow in 1C there didn't appear to be any meat.
As to the butter chicken I like spice. I had it twice in India and both times it was spicy. In the UK no spice.

I think butter chicken is quite a mild dish in UK. Plenty of more spicy ones. I miss UK curries actually. Enjoyed many a good curry in India...

No. In row one 2 gentlemen who didn’t speak to each other and opposite me a young couple. She got into trouble before take off as she was about to plug in a power bank. I was interested as the CSM told her not to use it but also to remove it’s battery.

Life was so much easier you know without all those cables, plug ins, power banks, mobiles....no wonder no one relaxed anymore and just gets stressed. Feel for the CC living with this every day.

But nothing in the VA rules about taking a battery out of a powerbank.

• Power banks: Carry-on only
• Spare batteries: Carry-on only
• Batteries installed in devices: See rules below
• Smart bags: Battery must be removable
• Damaged batteries: Not permitted
• Large batteries (>160Wh): Not permitted
• Batteries and power banks must never be packed in checked baggage.

Usage onboard​

Guests must:

• Keep battery-powered items close onboard
• All batteries, power banks and small portable electronic devices carried in the cabin must be stowed in the seat pocket, under the seat in front, or be kept on you / in your hands
• Not use power banks on board the aircraft to charge another device;
• Not charge power banks on board the aircraft;
• Observe strict limits on the quantity of spare batteries, portable electronic devices, power banks; and
• Observe limits on the capacity of the batteries and power banks.

I had a much larger battery under the seat in front 260MWH but seen and approved by staff.

Butter chicken or “creamy pasta bake with vegetables” (e.g mac and cheese pasta-bake). Partner and I got one of each, both tasty enough.

Family in row 2 looked to BYO cup-noodles which the CM obliged and added hot water for them.
