If all Qantas have is an old 737 then you would pick Virgin for business class at a much lower price as that is a no contest.
Mmmmmm…. no?

Fast free wifi on QF. The QF seat itself is actually more comfortable than the VA one, softer and contoured. And IFE on QF beats VA hands-down. Although the VA one actually has to be working first.

We go A330 on QF in business and then failing that I may as well save hundreds and go Virgin Business with their extra 6% discount.

I was on a QF bird on Sunday just few days ago and wifi was not working. From boarding they spewed the excuse on us, yeah blah we'll restart it soon and hope it works. Was Brocken all along & very poor.

Re the seat comfort, that's personal preference.
Re ife also personal preference.
Most pax watch their own device stuff anyway from walk up n down the aisle.

VA generally newer plane and more economical price. QF known for oldest birds in the chook shed.

So please....

Saying 'most people use their own devices' when there isn't an option, kind've goes without saying. I for one, don't like cooking my laptop/ipad on a flight when I could be watching live TV/movies on an IFE screen (such as SQ, or United etc in the US) ... This is particularly relevant when charging of personal devices can be so poor in-flight.

Well yes, depending on how discerning you are. Personally I find most if not all the stuff on IFE is not what I want to watch, so I don't bother with it.

I'm quite happy to "cook" my laptop for 6+ hours, even without available onboard power (that's a bonus). I enjoy being able to watch a whole series of a TV show that I mightn't have otherwise have had time to do at home. But, obviously, YMMV. Note, I don't fly long haul Y.

And getting back on topic, I don't fly VA J, as I don't want to be eating my meals or scratching my **** in a goldfish bowl.

VA1334 MEL-HBA 9.10PM August 15
Fare was cheap - about $350
Wasn’t expecting much given the time of departure.
Onlay one choice a chicken rice salad of some sort.
Was ok given the time.
Sparkling predeparture.
G&T for drink and asked for another on descent and served in a cup which was appreciated.
Asked for some choccies as well.
Cabin manager pronounced si-ray was great.
Rope thingy divider was used.

And return flight BNE-CNS

Curry with optional chicken

And my wife’s Beef macaroni cheese. Note the CSM had added snacks and chocolate in the side dish. I asked later, and that was her own initiative, which was appreciated. ( Though note that the flight down also had the chocolate added.)IMG_1492.jpeg

I had already moved things from my tray before taking the photo, but it was similarly presented with the extra items.

Last weekend, can't recall the exact flight numbers

MEL>SYD Breakfast, french toast. Enjoyable especially after wasting half my life waiting for coffee in the Melbourne lounge.

SYD>MEL Lunch? Tendies with some kind of curry sauce! Horrible, would not recommend this to anyone and not sure why it was on the menu. Maybe for children? Only ate about half due to being extremely salty.
