Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Can anyone tell me whether a 5pm flight from MEL-BNE on Friday would qualify for a meal or a snack? From reading this thread I'm thinking snack but wondered if anyone had any recent experiences.

5pm would be a snack. Dinner kicks in at 5.30pm.

VA470 BNE-PER on Sunday. A very good menu with quality ingredients. Excellent service as well.

Newspapers offered after takeoff and proactive offering of 'The Pantry' later in the flight.

Breakfast SYD to OOL VA515 10:10am departure 19/5 was a tasty toasted sandwich with egg, bacon etc.

Quite enjoyed it. Not sure why, but two rolls were served on my side plate with no actual bread basket service. Didn't eat the rolls as it seemed superfluous.

Ah, the photo appears upside down for me so I assume it will for everyone else as well. I swear it was served upright...Sorry about that.

VA544 OOL to SYD 22/5 at 7:05pm dinner service was a Malaysian Chicken Satay with rice. No photo unfortunately. Chicken was a little dry, though it was well seasoned and quite moreish. No photo unfortunately, though it would no doubt be upside down or sideways anyway.

Hi All,

Wondering if there are any recent reports of the J class overnight service on the 737's from PER to the East Coast?

I've found myself in a situation that will require a flight back east overnight and being a Saturday night there are no A330's operating (none on QF either). I'll book J for the comfort factor, but hoping someone can shed some light on the service aspect. It will most likely be to SYD on the almost 11pm departure if that helps...

Many thanks,

Boof

See link below. I have never done the overnight flight however.

Thanks Pleb Status. I had a look at the website and did read that menu but was hoping someone can shed some light on real world experiences as VA's 737 J class can be so hit and miss. I've found that unless you are on the golden triangle it rarely lives up to the marketing on the website!

Cheers,
Boof

A colleague did it last month (maybe to Bris though?) and said it was soup and a light breakfast. That menu reads similar to what he described

Is it possible Denzel Washington wasn't just flying the plane upside down?
