I agree it was a very stupid thing to do, but if you have employees who have an unblemished record, and go on to make a mistake, even as bad as this, is instant dismissal really the answer?
I tend to agree. The mistake does appear to be trivial even though some people may well be offended. Personally I would just laugh if I saw a message like that. I would not even be upset if the message read something such as "Get up you lazy cough" as it would be true.

Whilst the language is appalling, nobody was physically hurt, the plane didn't crash, and safety wasn't compromised.
