That's a shame...I'm paying my tax bill from 2011/2 using mine and +1s Virgin card. Easily covers the 7.5k needed on each card. Plenty of tax still to be paid so if you need ideas...:idea:

It's moments like these when I wish I had tax to pay.

Hmm, Maybe I should become a contractor.....LOL...
 
It was mentioned way upthread that PayPal payments were acceptable.
Perhaps you personally know a PayPal Merchant whom you have purchased from requiring payment ;)
 
My 50000 points and 100 status credits posted today. I'm pleased I didn't need to follow up!
 
SO's card arrived today.
Finally!
More than three months after application - and only now, as a result of emailing the person who sorted out the problems with my card two months ago.
Now to meet the expenditure target, which won't be any problem, and then to wait for the statement to issue before the credits can be posted.

Aha: I recall someone advising on this thread that the statement date can be changed.....

Worth a try, to bring it forward.

I wonder if anyone else still has an active application unresolved or if everyone has now either activated their cards, or given up on the process?

Just received my 50k points and 200SCs - at the end of the third month as I avoided using the card while o/s due to the relatively high forex surcharge. Thanks to all who posted about their experiences with all this, definitely has been one of the more rewarding CC promos of late. :)
 
Apologies if this has already been discussed....I've read the last several pages where I think I left off with this thread.

Has anyone who DIDN'T receive the email, but applied using the link to the promo page been successful in receiving the points and status credits?

Today my second monthly statement was generated and having met the $7500 spending requirement I can happily see the 50,000 points pending redemption in my redemption summary. Yay - great promo! :cool:

Second statement received today and have passed the spending requirements for the 50K points and 200 SC however nothing showing up online.
Called Manila and advised that yes I have met the requirements but the bonuses and SC won't be posted until the 3 month period after activation has passed. For me this will be May 10th.
From what I can see posted here others have had the points/SC as soon as they met requirements.
Should I call back and ask again
or sweat it out until May?
I'm thinking the former option sounds better

I was told the same thing, on two occasions. Persisted and did eventually break through the barriers and points were posted.
I do have a contact who has responded brilliantly to email, so if your next phone call does not work, PM me and I will pass on the email contact details that have worked for me.
 
I think my points/SC came in sometime after my qualifying statement was issued. Not immediately and also not the full 3 month period either.
