Vietnam Airlines layover accomodation

Some years ago I travelled MEL CDG Vietnam Airlines in J. We had a long layover in Vietnam but the softener was accomodation and an optional tour.
I see that flying a similar trip still has the long transit but no mention of included accomodation.
Can someone advise me if this is possible.

The brochure handed out by Vietnam Airlines at the last travel expo showed accommodation being provided for long stopovers in Ho Chi Minh, for all routes ex AU to Europe where the stop was about 7 hours or longer. This may not be an option if you have to transit via HAN as well (which is required on some itineraries).

Can always call VN at one of their Aussie numbers and ask.

This thread on FT also suggests there's an Ibis right by the airport with rooftop pool. May be an option if nothing through VN: Vietnam Airlines - Layover question (Business Class) - FlyerTalk Forums

I've done it about 18 months ago. I just emailed VN in Sydney and they organised it all. I think you need to have booked directly with them and not through an agent

I flew London to Sydney on Vietnam Airlines in August booked by a travel agent who organised this for me. It was approx 16 hour stop over.
