Victoria regional travel voucher

Good luck getting through the website; I just tried it now and got an error message on the apply now page from excessive request limits being exceeded.

I have a feeling a lot of people is signing up first and ask questions later, which means a large portion of the 40k vouchers will go unused.
 
Finally got an app submitted after literally dozens of timeout/refresh cycles, once the link went live at nearly 11:00. Will advise about approval or whatever.

I have an Airbnb booking on the Mornington Peninsula over Christmas, to which I intend to apply it.
 
Spent four hours trying. Filled in the form, but the registration for an account doesn’t work.

That would be perfect from the perspective of most governments. They can say they’re doing something, but don’t actually have to hand out any of the money.

I hope this same mob don’t have anything to do with the Vic QR CV app, whenever it happens.
 
Exactly the same thing happened when Tasmania did a similar scheme couple of months back. About 45,000 vouchers $100 for accommodation $50 for a travel experience like a tour. The site clagged a bit but I think all 46,000 vouchers all sold out in about 35 minutes. 😳

they ran a second round about a month later and all up I think only about 3/4 of the vouchers, or the value, was claimed. I used the hotel voucher but simply could not use my $50 travel experience voucher as it had to be used within a month of the hotel use.

The government said that they would use the unclaimed funds in other ways to support the travel industry in Tasmania.
 
The abc are reporting that due to website problems another 30,000 vouchers will be issued but I am unable to find any details of when they will be released
 
I received an email this afternoon saying my application was successful. I still need to substantiate the claim sometime between early Jan and early Feb.
 
Already all gone.

Luckily I got one from the first lot (after 5 hours of trying).
 
The Gentleman managed to snag one early on. No idea where we will use it though yet.
 
Finally received invitation to claim late last week, several days after the claim window was supposed to open. Submitted claim on Friday.

Received notification yesterday that claim was approved.

Will confirm when funds received.
 
Successfully registered when the window opened for the extra 30k vouchers. Got invite to claim on the 7th, submitted on the 9th, got a "payment notification" yesterday. Money hasn't shown up on my account though Funds have been received.

Ballarat was nice. Haven't been there for years. B)
