They might on the other side.
In logo form that was how they were presented though.

I agree with you but I think that QF could have flipped these logos around so that they are pointing forwards on both sides. I think that the military do similar to ensure that flags aren't flying 'backwards'.

The rat looking backwards has to be an oversight, surely.

Still time to fix it once someone notices and says “$&i@“.

And if they flipped the logos, there'd be purists complaining they were meddling with the logos.

Does the roo on the tail ever face backwards? Similar process for the little side logos can’t be that hard? Oversight?

Edit: And on the engines, face forward

That stuff was designed for the aircraft.

The corporate logos they have placed on the aircraft typically have the roo facing right.

If you're going to put historic logos on the aircraft, just present them as they were. Which is what they have done.

Well yes that was their first mistake.

But why would you? If you can obtain $200K from a company gullible enough to pay you it, why wouldn't you take the full $200K? There are plenty of people inside and outside Qantas that are fleecing it for all they can. Think about AJ. Managing to convince the Board that he's worth $25mil per year -- what an amazing con. Think about the marketing guru who came up with the idea of the points plane -- probably got a big fat bonus on the basis of that.

Not disagreeing with you but I’d suggest larger bonuses have been paid for reducing head counts.

On topic:
I bet the KLM 100 year livery cost more than this QF one, and also the weight of the blue paint would be significantly more... I read a really interesting article somewhere about Air NZ's All Black paint scheme plane costing them a fortune in paint but also weight to fly around....

Que? Does blue or black paint weigh 'significantly more' than white paint?

Apologies for going slightly OT, but couldn't find another Dreamliner-specific thread to share this.

Apparently on ZNI's first revenue flight (QF95 25OCT) she suffered a burst water pipe over Fiji. The leak was in of the Economy lavatories, which proceeded to send 200 litres of water into the cabin, drenching it. I believe the crew had to remove the lavatory pan from the wall in flight in an attempt to stop the water. QF instructed the techies to proceed to LAX. ZNI returned to BNE as QF16 that evening.

Apologies for going slightly OT,

From a post on airliners.net on the first revenue flight.

Despite being new plane there was burst water pipe causing flood on the plane(albeit no snake) - putting 2 toilets out of commission and basically rear section of economy carpet remaining damp and cold throughout the flight

It was almost air turn back but crew on board was able to semi fix it (apparently one of the FA is mechanic as well and other former plumber)

I believe water had to be turned off to the whole aircraft for an extended period of time.

I would have had a right mind to fly the thing onwards from LAX back to Seattle and tell Boeing to fix it on the spot!!
