After reading some of those twitterings, perhaps they should have gone to Specsavers.

Oh that could be a good ad if ever Specsavers becomes an earn partner...

QF has a Dreamliner? Ye Gods, surely the first ever? This must be worthy of publicity. Whatever next? Non stop flights to Blighty...........now if they did that they would be shouting from the rooftops.

:p

Wait till you see the fuss Air France is making over their first A350.
Understandable I suppose as they were the launch customer weren't they? Weren't they?

I'm no graphics designer/artist but I would have thought it would be better to have the Qantas tails facing forwards towards the nose vs backwards?

Think a bit more about your post before someone jumps in and mansplains it to you.... 😂

They might on the other side.
In logo form that was how they were presented though.

KLM did a much better job with their 100th anniversary livery imo:

If QF paid the marketing guru 200k to paint ‘100’ on the side of an aircraft then I could have done that for 199k and saved the company money. Just sayin’

But why would you? If you can obtain $200K from a company gullible enough to pay you it, why wouldn't you take the full $200K? There are plenty of people inside and outside Qantas that are fleecing it for all they can. Think about AJ. Managing to convince the Board that he's worth $25mil per year -- what an amazing con. Think about the marketing guru who came up with the idea of the points plane -- probably got a big fat bonus on the basis of that.

Avianca is older than QF and has a few more 787's . Do they also have a "100" aircraft ?

Glass half-full (or near empty)? 😀

I’m surprised the aircraft doesn’t have a picture of AJ on it.

Not really a bad scheme, though it reminds me of the Boeing 747-800 test aircraft’s paint job.

I'm sorry this is just off topic hyperbolic rubbish. You are beginning to sound eerily like another person who recently left these forums...

Do you have any idea about how corporations remuneration schemes work.... because it sounds like you don't 😂

Read up about how AJ is compensated. The exec bonus are tied to LT business performance on share price, he isn't paid 25 million a year, that's just a nonews headline.

A designer was not paid 200K to design this livery.

And whoever came up with the PR stunt of the points plane would not have got a 'big fat bonus' from the idea, it just not how bonus structures work in business... (I wish!)

On topic:

I bet the KLM 100 year livery cost more than this QF one, and also the weight of the blue paint would be significantly more... I read a really interesting article somewhere about Air NZ's All Black paint scheme plane costing them a fortune in paint but also weight to fly around....

The KLM 100 787-10 aircraft is just their new livery with an added large 100th - nothing special.

They've also got a small 100 sticker on 777 Orange Pride, the half blue half Orange plane

Edit: Better for everyone not to continue the off-topic discussion. Happy to discuss how wrong you are via PM if you want, jakeseven7.

I guess the issue is that the share price can be manipulated, and does not necessarily reflect the health of the company.
