Halfway back to the Multi-Storey LT at MEL after getting off the 625 this afternoon, my sister realised she'd left the carrier bags full of presents in the overhead. Rushed back to the terminal (leaving bags with wife) and fully expecting to traipse back to the further reaches of the first pier and bitter disappointment to ensue.

Firstly stopped by one of the floor-walkers in check-in in the hope of them getting a message to the Gate (they'd announced suspension of apron activities due to storms so I knew the plane was going nowhere). "How long ago did you land?" she asked, "20 mins said I." "Go straight to Baggage Services next to the carousels". I expressed my scepticism to my sister on the escalator on the way down, but there the bag was, sitting on the counter when we arrived.

Excellent service from whoever: Cabin-Crew, Cleaners, Baggage Services... whosoever.

Red-Roo: I've provided feedback via the Customer Services form, but would really like to ensure that my sister's sincere thanks (and amazement as to the speed) to all involved.

Regards,

BD

Love good news stories I had a similar one transiting Dubai. Left all my duty free goodies onboard and somehow got a message out out to the gate that I had left my bag in the overhead bin. A Qantas rep rang me back reassuring me it had been found and that it will be left for me in the overhead locker in the same place as I continue my trip to Australia. Very good outcome indeed.
