Rang NAB today to cancel the card after I received the 15,000 points.
Lady on the other end asked why I was cancelling and my reply was
you don't get many points using the card. She offered a bonus 5,000 points if I kept the card. I didn't take up the offer.

I too signed up for the 15000 point offer, but haven't been using the card as the 0.5 Velocity Points per dollar spent just doesn't seem to be valuable enough for me when compared to my Woolworths EzyBanking Mastercard which is at 1 QFF point per dollar with no capping. Even with the Amex, which is 1 point per dollar, I have an Amex Affinity card with 1.5 QFF points per dollar and it's just not worth using the National cards.

I'm going to cancel as well. I hate having more cards than I need to lining my wallet.

Agree entirely :!:

Whilst the offer of the 15000 points was inviting it was not enough to entice me to get another card. 8) :?

I'll agree with both of you...I already have a separate wallet I use for my non-regular cards (AA, UA, SQ, NW, Avis, Hertz, etc etc)

Received a personalised application form in the mail -

15,000 velocity points on NAB Visa/Amex for purchase before 15 Feb

Choice of either Standard or Gold cards, you get two cards - an Amex and a Visa.

Visa earn Velocity @ $2:1, Amex earns Velocity @ $2:2 (Gold) and @ $2:1½ (standard).

Annual fee waived for first 12 months ($65 Standard, $150 Gold)

I got the same offer in the mail a couple of days ago, not much to lose, ill probably use it a couple of times then just get rid ot it.

I got the letter a few days ago and also applied.

Strange that my wife, who is also a Velocity member, and earns considerably more than I do, didn't get a letter.

Sexism lives on in Australia, I guess.

Great news!

My new cards arrived today and I'm looking forward to the 15,000 points arriving in my Velocity account by April.

I just called both NAB and Velocity and neither know anything about this 15,000 bonus points offer. Is there a promotion code on the letter?
