Good evening,

I received an unsolicited email this week from a mob called RoundAboutTravel.

It’s spruiking sites called VAccrue.com.au and QFlyer.com.au (which seems different from the old Qflyer.info).

I fly a lot, but I don’t know how they knew who I am or where they got my details. I trust not from VA/VFF itself...

Anybody had similar approaches?

Much obliged for your thoughts.

Kind regards,

SBD

Hi SBD,

I am director of RoundAbout Travel and happy to reply to the query. That announcement of our new brands just went out to clients who had previously enquired with RoundAbout Travel about business class round the world airfares and set up an account with us. This could have been a couple of years ago and perhaps you don't recall having used our site but that's the only place we obtain the account info from.

We very rarely send any email communication and it's very targetted if we do. But it's just a simple 2 second click at the bottom of the email to unsubscribe. If you need a hand with that though feel free to give me a call on 1300 318 227, ask for me and we'll ensure you don't receive any further communication.

Regards,

Mark Trim, Director
RoundAbout Travel

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your message.

I’ve conducted a family Royal Commission and indeed a family member made an enquiry many years ago.

My apologies, and commendations to you for your privacy policy and adherence to it.

Kind regards,

SBD

So has anyone used either of these websites?

What are the advantages, or the extras on offer?

Travel agents with some status advice available it seems,

Hope the qf and va lounge images have been licensed or they might get a surprise legal letter soon!

Very slick looking websites. Actually think it's a pretty good service to be offering, flights with the status focus in the background, most people/agents have no idea.
