Using Qantas flight credits?

Has anyone had issues booking flights using a flight credit recently?

I booked some flights yesterday which the credit covered about 70% of the cost, but the remaining balance hasn't been debited from my card yet. The booking is showing up in my account with the same PNR as my previous booking which the credit was under. When I hover over the Change and Cancel buttons in the booking it says it's still processing and when I try to add it in the QF app it says to try again when payment is complete. I'm guessing it just takes longer or has to be done manually because I'm using a credit?

My main concern is that I'm hoping to use points for an upgrade to J for which I can see the availability is there at the moment but it won't go through until the flight is ticketed.

Hopefully that happens soon before the availability disappears.

Any advice or feedback appreciated. :)

Yes I had the same problem with a flight credit earlier this month. After two weeks I called to have it processed and ticketed as I wanted to upgrade to J. Even after it was ticketed, the upgrade sat as requested even though there was a lot of U availability. Called again to have the upgrade confirmed.

I didn’t have any issues with payment taking longer than usual but I did have issues with upgrading the ticketed flights.

Trying to do so online it said it wasn’t eligible for upgrade so I just called and had the upgrade put through by the helpful agent.

It might be worth a call to get it pushed through (and possibly another one if the flights show as not being eligible for upgrade)

I hope it works out an you get the J seats

Just tried to call QF, wait time was 30-40mins, I waited on hold for 93 minutes then got sick of waiting and hung up.

Hopefully it gets processed/ticketed overnight otherwise I’ll try again in the morning.

I had the same issue when using a credit voucher, it took about 1.5 weeks for my flight to "ticket" and for my card to be charged, so perhaps just wait and see.
