I completed the Hilton Racing fast track offer and, when I wasn't automatically upgraded to Gold, emailed Hilton to question it. I was told "2 of the stays you have had are not eligible stays and therefore will not count towards the fast track."

I guess she's referring to two stays I made using HPC $99 stay cards. Before I complain that this wasn't stated in the T&C's I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences?

Stays with the "Welcome to Hilton" vouchers have never been eligible for "stay credit" under HHonors. Sometimes they they do register as a stay, but this is more fortunate than anything else.

I have used these $99 (or $66 in '05) stays 4 times over the last 4 years and have had two credit as a stay, the other two (these were at AKL) did not.

Yes, certainly YMMV (but not in NZ) ;)

Interesting how I managed to get my first use of the $99 HPC rate for Hilton AKL credit after a couple of emails. I didn't expect it but I persevered and it paid off.
