Recently at the SYD DOM J Lounge I witnessed a lady attempting to use a first class lounge invite to gain access - bluntly (but correctly) told that it was only valid at the F lounge and turned away.
Good practice by Qantas? I would have thought that if someone wanted to "waste" the pass on a lower lounge it would be in the interest of Qantas to allow it? This was in the middle of the day in a very empty lounge.
I did note that she was very promptly guested in - I don't know if she offered the invite as a trade - or someone was just being generous. If I wasn't talking to the second agent - I would have offered her a guest spot in exchange for the pass.
Thoughts? I understand that she may never have had the opportunity to use it internationally - but I'm sure through a network of friends/family/workmates etc - it most likely would have been "cashed in" at the F lounge somehow.
