Has anyone done this? What is the sucess like? I am looking at J-F on a BA 388 upgrade.

Well, perhaps no-one who has looked at the thread in the 14.5 hours since you posted - which when you deduct sleep time, probably only gives you about 7.5 hours.

No, I haven't :(

No, not you :o

I hadn't even considered your question previously - but I am a bit out of the loop these days.

Was unaware of the AA ticket only rule. If it was there in the past. Seems to be gone now.

Q. Can I use miles to upgrade reservations booked through my travel agency or corporate travel desk?
A. Yes, you can use your AAdvantage miles to upgrade British Airways and Iberia flights as well as American Airlines codeshare flights operated by British Airways and Iberia which have been booked through a travel agency, corporate travel desk or any other source. In order to be eligible, your reservation must include at least one flight booked as an AA flight number.
