20220404 - Qantas Booking Changes.png

So this happened to me last week. I mean, come on guys. I know things are in flux due to travel restrictions changing everywhere all over the place and AJ occasionally being unhappy with the WA government over the last 2 years, but this really shouldn't be allowed to occur.

I tried to get through to Qantas but waited over 2 hours on hold before I had to head off (no call back option offered this time around unfortunately).

Am on hold again to sort it out.

If wanting to travel between Australia and Singapore, Singapore Airlines and Scoot (yes a LCC option) seem to have much more stable schedules than Qantas.

Other than that, the only way to call them is to set aside 5 hrs where you will be doing unimportant things (such as evening at home) and don't have other committments that would prevent you from picking up the phone when it is answered.

You might get 5 minutes in the lounge if you are lucky.
The kicker is that I don't think the F lounge in Singapore is open until later in the month! Couldn't even squeeze that in!

While you're rebooking, consider extending your trip to make it for the SIN lounge crawl?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you look in the multi-page thread about qantas call centre hold times in this forum, one of the most recent replies indicates which number to call for a more prompt response.

A more prompt response still resulted in a 90-minute wait. Although this time I did have a call-back option, which I very much appreciate.

Full kudos to Giles, my CSA this time around. Very friendly, very helpful. 5 stars. Would recommend.

Agree, we had a recent dealing with Giles, who was very good - once we got thru to him...

The flight change to depart and return on the same day is bad enough, but was there no option to select a different date for your PER-SIN flight online? (This is a rhetorical question - there should be but I know there wasn't.) Requiring customers to call and wait hours on hold to sort out a problem of Qantas' making is unacceptable and highlights the contempt Qantas has towards its customers.

I've unfortunately seen plenty of QF flight schedule changes over the past year like this one that simply don't work, like inbound flights that depart before the outbound flight or connection times of minus 5 hours. So frustrating.

There was the option to change online, but the dates for that change are limited. And as I wanted a change outside of the offered range I had to call.

I also needed to ask about meal preferences because my last one didn't stick (domestic PER-MEL, multiple Qantas changes to the flight).
