As is this:

'All international arrivals in Beijing must undergo two weeks of quarantine, a city official has confirmed, as China tries to limit imported cases of the new coronavirus.

Beijing had already required quarantine for people arriving from hard-hit countries including South Korea, Iran, Italy and Japan but Zhang Qiang, a city government official, said at a press conference that those landing from any nation would now face 14-day isolation.

People arriving in the city for business trips must stay in a designated hotel and undergo a nucleic acid test for the virus, he added.

Travellers flying into Beijing Capital International Airport from high-risk countries are now handled separately from other passengers, state media reported earlier this week.'

Special exemption for Business Travellers:

"In addition, the city also announced a policy for business travelers who plan on staying less than 14 days: they will be subjected to coronavirus testing upon arrival and will be asked to remain in their hotel until passing the test as negative. No details were given on how such a test would be administered or how long it would take to get results."

I wonder who in the White House persuaded DT not to apply the ban immediately and have planes turned around in the air like when he banned travellers from 7 Muslim countries.

There are Black Swans and then there is DT.

Castaway!?!

Now where’s Wilson ?
I hope he had it before he arrived - can you imagine if we're responsible if he should die. (saying in jest, I dont want the man to be sick let alone dead)

He was at Bonid last week and now QLD, I can seee the tshirt now, "I was touched by Tom Hands and all I got was CONVID-19"

Sorry more fake news.He banned the issuing of visas from those countries as their processing was dysfunctional.basically the same countries singled out by Obama a few years earlier.
No planes were turned around.

When the "Muslim ban" was started, people had boarded flights with valid visas, only to arrive in the US a few hours later to be locked up by CBP and many later getting deported.

This Europe flight ban appears to apply to the Schengen Area, which is 22 of the 27 current full EU members and the 4 EFTA members.
UK, Ireland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Romania and the non EU member European states are theoretically exempt.

From what I’ve read it isn’t a flight ban as such but a restriction in entry into the US of any foreign nationals who have been inside the Schengen area within the last 14 days.

So if there are some Australians in London, for example, who just arrived there from Paris on Sunday, and had plans to fly to New York this weekend out of LHR ..... no can do.

But no flights were turned around.
Simiarly when we banned foreign nationals coming in from China some arrived having already boarded their flight to find they couldn't enter Australia.

Do Australians get passport stamps when entering and exiting the Schengen area?

Australia is now considering doing the same as US in banning Europe.

Yes. We did.
Unless they forget to stamp. I have stamps for 90% of my Schengen entry/exits.

The Prime Minister has asked health officials to also consider extending the ban to all travellers from Europe

where in the world is roof_lyer…. taswegia will be quarantining itself soon… Oh my…...

So its not foolproof. I use UK passport in Europe so no stamps but I was wondering as Mrs SS uses Australian passport and appears to have entered France from UK and left from Holland last October sans any European stamps.
