as bofter points out it's 18 months. but buying more miles counts as activity I think.

in any event, there is an option to pay USD9 and they extend your points for another 18 months. no need to worry about shopping etc.

Thanks for the advice MEL_Traveller.

Is there any limit to the amount of bonus points you can receive in a calendar year? Ie since I got 50,000 + 50,000 bonus recently, can I just get another 100,000 the same way with this June promotion? I'd hate to buy another 50k but not get the bonus!

the usual restriction is 100K max per promo (so buy 50 and get 50). But you can buy each promo round.

The best thing about AFF is that, not only is that answer that I need to know already posted but also the questions that I never thought I should be asking!!

I have spent the last couple of hours getting my head around this whole US Dividend miles thing, including using the ANA tool.

I only have one question, from Australia what is the best way for us to book a redemption?

Use skype to call the 800 428 4322 number, just select country USA and it is free so you can call up and back as long as you want without costing a cent. Also I find AwardTravelr - Searching across all possibilities to make your frequent flyer miles work for you much easier to use than ANA (and it actually searches through the ANA engine, just with a better interface).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd second travelislife's endorsement of AwardTravelr but would note that, according to this post from one of the developers on FT, a *A search accesses AC, NH and UA. Great stuff! :D

In about 12 months time I might need help with that quiz.
Have a number of friends going for these US Air Buy/Gift miles this long weekend in Perth.

Love AwardTravelr, but note that it will show availability on Qatar Airways, which isn't bookable through US.

Two and a half hours on skype to get through last night to Bookings and then it was the domestic section:( They offered to transfer me and I could wait for an operator, I chose bed!

Yes it does. I actually notified the developer of this a couple of months ago and had a good email response from them saying they are looking for any feedback they can get. But obviously haven't been able to fix it yet!

Wow! I have never heard of this. Which number did you call? Generally calling from Australia works well as it is the middle of the night in the states so much quicker to get through.

Hi folks,

After a little routing assistance. My wife had a trip booked July 21 in J YUL-ORD-ICN-SYD and was informed that the ORD-ICN flight has been cancelled so they moved her to a flight the next day. She called up to discuss, and has now been told that the rebooked flight does not meet the MCT time and is invalid and they can't seem to find anything else.

Any suggestions on routing? Also, will they make an exception to the number of segments that are allowed for exceptional circumstances?

Thanks...

I have tried using this multiple times but it forever just says 'search in progress' without ever showing any results?
