Wow we're quick t post the email! :D Mine only arrived 5 minutes ago!

I got the 50% one as well.

Will have a think about it but that's a very limited time to buy as opposed to normal.

FWIW I bought and redeemed 160,000 miles last year for travel this year.

There are reports on ft that the 25% offer was an error and you will get an email for 50% soon

I've only had for some of the account I run (wife and kids too). The low value ones done during the Grand Slam (i.e. 1K just to get a hit) didn't get anything. Of course if someone posts the link you may be able to use someone elase 50% link, it doesn't seem to be user specific.

Will be good for me only because last left me a couple of thousand short on a couple of accounts but don't think will buy more than that. Too soon really to see a pattern but early signs would be we may get more frequent but smaller offers and that loyalty WILL be rewarded. Also might be tempting to some to push them from a J award to an F award!

I got the email with 25% offer about 90min ago.

I have yet to redeem the miles I've purchased.

Where's my email!?? :(

Purchased 121k last year + bonuses.

I got the same email, but my offer was only for a 25% saving! Won't be taking that up, I currently have 120,000 miles sitting in 2 accounts to start looking at a trip to Europe for December.

Maybe top up to 150K for Europe in F?

Just got the 25% email.

Changed the 25s in the offer URL to 50s and lo and behold, 50% less!

Edit: actually, when I click through to the payment screen it reverts to a message about 25%...with smaller discount.

Hope the 50% email shows up!

my family members got 25% followed by 50% a short while later.

I got no 25%, just the 50, it arrived just a few minutes ago (hours after the rest of the family).

friends got their 50% one 90 mins ago (no 25% first).

so it seems all over the place... but definitely 50% should arrive....

No F out of MEL available unfortunately otherwise I would think about it. I am happy with J though for less than $2000pp.

Why not just position yourself to SYD? That's what I'm doing for our F trip in July. Have booked DJ J SYD-MEL. Think the lady might need the 79kg allowance

I got both 50% & 25% emails.

With the 50% off link, the discount reverts back to 25% in the payment page. May be the 50% off was a mistake email.:?:

Eventually received the 50% email...AND it does successfully offer the 50% discount at the payment page. They've got me again...top up to 2 x Europe F level!!

But is (TG) F that much better than C for most Asian airlines anyway to worth re-positioning to Sydney? I actually think C is sufficient for most people?

Of course C is sufficient, but I would say yes, it is worth travelling to SYD instead for an F award.

When I did SYD-BKK-LHR-BKK-MEL, come the last leg I regretted not inconviencing myself by flying back to SYD in F and making my own way to MEL. However it wasn't practical to do so as the TG flight arrived too late to make a domestic connection. An overnight in SYD would've been taking it just a bit too far.

three sets of my friends (all couples)thought the same way as you... business is fine... who needs first class...

all of them, without fail, boarded the second flight to europe ex Bangkok, saw the first class seats and wished they were there! ( made particularly worse for two lots who were sitting in the first row of business class on the A340 and could see everything going on in first class before take off!

that couple with the very large jump between the ground services of business and first class at Bangkok make make first class well worth the few dollars extra!
