Upgrading with points from Premium Economy to Business - Question

Does anybody know, if I upgrade a PE booking to business class using points, when I make the trip do I still get the points/status credits as for the PE booking, or is it now regarded as an award flight i.e. no points or status credits?

This could be the difference between keeping and losing platinum status!

It is the original fare class you receive.

Yep, points/SCs for the originally booked class.

Also the points for the upgrade are only taken if your upgrade request is successful. If the upgrade request is unsuccessful you can try and use the points to upgrade a different flight that is eligible to be upgraded.

As you have WP status your request would be considered ahead of SG, PS and NB travellers.
