Upgrade requests from Y to both J & PE on same booking - is it possible?

I have a flight booked SYD-HKG in Economy and have submitted an upgrade request to Business. Having recently dropped back to Silver I reckon my chances in the upgrade lottery are pretty low, so I was thinking maybe I should ALSO put in an upgrade request to Premium Economy but when I go back into the Upgrade section within manage booking, I can see the upgrade to business requested, but there is no option to request another upgrade to PE.

SO - does anyone know if it is possible to have an upgrade request to both J & PE on the same booking? Do you have to do it over the phone? If it can be done, does anyone know the order in which they would process the 2 requests? Can you specify that J is your first preference, so you will only be considered for PE if your upgrade to J is unsuccessful? Basically I would hate to get confirmed to PE only for the next person in line to get confirmed to J.

Anyone had any experience with this situation? Would appreciate any advice!
Thanks.

When you requested your upgrade to J it should of asked if you wanted to request to PE if the J request was unsuccessful...

When you lodge the upgrade request you have the choice to of J only, PE only, or J OR PE. Once the request is lodged it can't be changed online but you might be able to get them to change it by ringing up - otherwise, cancel the request and resubmit it.

Thanks for the quick responses!

I was actually talking to QFF on the phone about something else on the booking and they put in the upgrade request for me - however they didn't ask if I wanted just J or J & PE. Is there any way to tell by looking at the booking what type of request has been put in? I just checked the booking and it only says 'An upgrade to Business is requested. Status of upgrade will be shown 5 hours before departure'. Would this message be different if they had also included the PE option? I guess they may have done it automatically without asking me. But then again - they might not have!

I don't think there is anyway to tell online. Either cancel and resubmit online or call qantas and ask tthem to do it :)

But just remember that if you cancel and resubmit that you lose your place in the queue.

There is almost certainly no "time of request" parameter in relation to the pecking order for points upgrades these days.

Actually, if you login to you FF account online and select "your Bookings", then select upgrade for the booking, it should show what has been selected.

If you want to select PE upgrade if no J upgrade available then you may need to cancel the request, then reselect using the option you require.

I've put in a J, PE backup, upgrade request for one of my current bookings, Manage My Booking says an upgrade has been request for PE. So if yours is saying J then I would suspect only J has been requested.
