Upgrade family member - how?

Does anyone have a link to the "upgrade a family member" page on the Qantas website?

This used to be obvious but I can't find it anywhere now. The only page I've found is https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/use-points/classic-upgrade-rewards.html which has an "UPGRADE NOW" button on it, but clicking that button shows the error "PNR was not found in the URL".

The website also says you can do it through the app but stuffed if I can figure out how.

It is assessed at the recipients status level with the exception of P1 sponsored upgrades which get the highest priority within the regular band of that person's status.

So for example if you are Gold and your family member is Bronze, the upgrade will be assessed for them as Bronze and not gold.

Unless, of course, you're flying together and on the one booking with two (or more) upgrade requests - in which case then your status would be used. If they are on their own than it will be their status.

If you are not travelling but want to use your points to request an upgrade for an eligible family member, the upgrade will be awarded according to the eligible family member's priority, not the status of the Qantas Frequent Flyer whose points are being used. An exception is made when Platinum One members (who aren’t travelling) redeem points for an upgrade on behalf of eligible family members. In this case the eligible family members will enjoy a higher priority.
 
Can anyone provide insight on how smart the upgrades are, particularly with keeping travellers together?

My sister and I are booked on the same flight and sitting together, but ticketed separately; I placed an upgrade request for her, then put in my own upgrade a few minutes later. We are both are Bronze, my sister's got next to no points, I've had multiple upgrades previously...
1) will they prioritise my sister's upgrade over mine?
2) would QF be smart enough to identify we're family travelling together and award upgrades accordingly (e.g. Both or None; seated together on upgrade?)

Her request will theoretically get processed before yours as requested prior.
The system will have no idea that you are together. The upgrades will be processed separately and independently of each other.

Officially no, but is is impossible to actually know what the algorithm is. Likely position in request queue is a factor. so as you sister was requestedearlier than you, she is ahead of you in the queue. Whether previous success come into play is an unknown.

No, the upgrades are considered separately as you are both on different tickets - and as though you are not related. Where you sit has no bearing.
Though the type of ticket will be a factor. Even in same cabin tickets are different - with more expensive ones getting better probabilities.
Obviously the chance of one person getting an upgrade is higher than both getting it.
