Last year you could earn 5000 Velocity points for test driving a new Hyundai (Targeted - 5000 points for doing a test drive). This year you can earn up to 100,000 Velocity points if you buy a new Hyundai SUV.

Interesting! I'm actually looking for a car at the moment. My car was written off in the Sydney hailstorm a couple of weeks ago and they towed it away last week.

But I'm looking at a Volkswagen Tiguan or Volvo XC60. 100,000 points probably won't sway me to a Hyundai. :)

Did test the Tuscon and I absolutely would consider buying it. But I'm not convinced they wouldn't make a mess of this offer as they did with the test drive offer.

I was given a Tiguan as a rental recently and I have to say, if it weren't for the big FU that VAG tossed Australia's way relating to the emissions scandal and subsequent handling, I'd love to own one. I just could not bring myself to own a car from from a company with so little regard for public health.

Coincidentally, I looked very hard at the XC60 before settling on a 320i wagon reccently. Few cars look better than the XC60 on the outside, but the inside was pretty far from interesting. Having had my share of Kia and Hyundai rental cars, I don't know if there's any amount of FFPs that would sway me in that direction.

Agree.

I think this a fair assumption. But I'm sure you are aware that this does happen with credit card deals sometimes as well. For the test drive, I don't think I saw a situation where the points weren't paid by Hyundai and in my case additional points were paid for the inconvenience of the points not being awarded within the stated time frame. Be prepared to fight for the points.

Surprisingly I have 2 x employees talking about buying Range Rovers so sent them the links.

Dont mind the Hyundais, good cars that have given us no probems (we have 6 on fleet) and Ive rented a few of them and surprised by some of the extras it has.... but I wouldnt buy one for myself.
