yes, of course lots of applications get you rejected. I have heard rumours that 12 in the past three years is an instant reject for anyone further, too, so do back off for 6 or 12 months.

Of course none of the call centre staff would tell me why except one from Amex who said my Veda score may have been too high due to a number of applications.

Of all the things that **** me to tears about the broken credit check system, this would have to be #1 - no-one will (or can?) tell you _why_ you have credit problem.

When it's people who are popping off new credit card applications every 3 months, you can make a guess (though IMHO mere applications shouldn't have a negative impact). However, when you're someone like my wife who has never even had a late phone bill and you get knocked back because of "credit check problems", it's frustrating to the point of tears.

Quick question re this card. Are GK (Jetstar Japan) fees ¥300 offset with this card, or are there forex fees that eat it up?

Updated offer. Apply by 31st July to receive up to 30,000 points AND now with 2 free Qantas Club Lounge passes:

Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Pay

Need to spend $5000 by the end of September to get the second lot of 15,000 points.

Having had (and cancelled this card) in the past, I am tempted by this offer

I wonder if it can be stacked with Club Jetstar to get the 50% annual fee reduction?

Yea, that is reasonably tempting.

$149 annual fee is slightly annoying, but I can't see a better out there in the market at the moment. If nothing better pops up before then, I'll probably apply for it.

Just received an email from Jetstar for this with the first year fee reduction to $69. Not sure if it is general or targetted - very tempting now. Still $39 for supplementary.

And here was jetstar proclaiming it as an exclusive offer for me....:)

Yes I got that email as well.

Will definitely apply, but I'm not counting on being approved since being inexplicably declined for the Macquarie Platinum card around 3 months ago. The card I understand is also issued by Macquarie Bank.

I got the email but from what I can see, no reduction in annual fee.

I got the email with the reduced annual fee. I have never applied for a credit card just for a bonus but the more i read these forums the more i feel motivated, so might start with this one.

Anyone kind enough to share a link? Or is it individual offers only? Did a quick google search found nothing. Looking for a new card to replace my Amex.

Here is the link to the 30,000 points bonus, the reduced annual fee looks like it is an individual offer as it is a unique address.

Edit: Use link in post above

It appears to me there are two different offers

1) 50% off annual fee but without the 30K QFF points

2) 30K QFF points but no mentioning of a reduced annual fee

Is that what you are seeing ?

On face value, $69 will get you 30,000 points.

I'm reading it as the reduced annual fee is available to Club Jetstar members only as it is accessed through the Club Jetstar offer link Club Jetstar Card Offer | Jetstar

However, when you click the apply now button, the 30k FF point offer pops up. I'd be arguing both apply if you are a Club Jetstar member but bearing in mind this is a Macquarie Bank card, be prepared to have to argue the toss with the muppets if their Platinum Card is anything to go by.
