Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this one.

As amusing as the incident is though, the tone of the delivery of this report and drawing paradigms with the QF30 incident shows how lacking in perspective some journos are!

Unscheduled toilet stop adds to Qantas woes - Travel - smh.com.au

THE run of bad luck afflicting Qantas took a graphic turn last night when a fully loaded 767 flying from Sydney to Perth was forced to stage an unplanned landing in Adelaide so its toilets could be emptied.

Flight staff on QF571 told passengers that Sydney ground staff had forgotten to empty the toilets on the 737-300, which originated in Honolulu.

By the time the flight had been in the air for an hour, three of the toilets had ceased to function.

And the fact the aircraft changes from a 767 to a 737 shows how full of cough journalists are (just like QF planes apparently!!:D)

SMH.com.au has now amended the report to read 737 (and 737-300) in pars one and two. Having said that, is there a chance it's still wrong? I would've thought Honolulu to Sydney would be a bit of a strecth for a 737...as would be SEVEN toilets?!
Perhaps mistaken with a 767-300 (which Qantas uses for a fair few intl runs)?
Jeez I'm turning into a plane geek - not helped by going out with a sub-editor for four years!

More bulldust with this!

QF4, the only Qantas aircraft arriving from HNL yesterday landed ~1½ hours late at 19:05.

QF571, SYD-(-ADL-)PER departed at 17:55!

OGC may have arrived from an international post; but it certainly was not HNL!

It is possible that the passenger that would have rung News with this news originated in HNL. How else would News have found out about it.

And speaking of toilets, my boss was on the flight from Perth that had to turn back after 45 minutes in the air because of no water on board.
