I have a friend who isn't yet a member of any FF program. He lives in the UK and will soon travel LHR - CAI with me (discount economy), then is flying CX Business class return from LHR-MEL early next year. What FF program should he join? BA? QF? CX?

To assist with any answer, does you friend have (or want) any status with an airline.

What does your friend wish to do with any points so earned?

He has no status with any airline. I just thought it would be good to get some points rather than letting them go to waste. He's in Australia for a month next year so might get enough points for a free flight or an upgrade with BA (if that's possible) from the UK.

Can only upgrade BA flight numbers on BA metal on BA bookings with BAEC points.

One option may be to credit to QFF and redeem for award business class seats.

That;s what I was leaning towards - or he can give them to me - his long ;lost step brother!
