Hello all - getting back into Domestic travel tomorrow for the first time in awhile (a big comedown from ex-HKG everywhere, F lounging and Airport Express etc etc!!)

Question: Has anyone had success in picking up an UberX from MEL on arrival - the fare quote is very attractive but UberX is not allowed to be selected from the app (only Uber Black) from MEL. Perhaps an alternative address close by works?

Otherwise what car service do people recommend these days as I have a meeting first thing so can't skybus or taxi it really.

Cheers!

In BNE UberX has blocked passengers from dropping a pin at the airport and that's why no UberX appear in the area. The workaround is to drop one at a shopping center nearby, then call the allocated driver to change the pickup location.

MEL may be similar....

I'll investigate and report back :)

Certainly is a good price if you're not worried about the type of car that takes you. I've had everything from 5 series BMWs to Suzuki swifts - hugely inconsistent (the swift was awful as a passenger) but the price is right.
