Uber drivers at CNS routinely cancelling rides to manipulate surge pricing

Do you prefer Didi or Uber in Cairns (for drivers)?

I’ve never had any luck with Didi even though I see cars on the map.

Same, found Didi as dead as a dodo. I keep getting a message basically saying the airport is a no go zone for Didi (so the rest of Cairns is OK...?)

It appears that Didi can do dropoffs but not pickups.

The Airport needs a bus of some sort. I see the local MP is looking into that but who knows how long. The airport parking fees are not great for locals, at least Melbourne still has $14 per day.

I see most walking down that long airport road assuming to avoid the high cost of everything transport. On nearly all occasions I note someone gives them a free ride to the end, quite a dangerous road to try and walk down.

About $30 is probably a little over the average but that is school kicking out time and the hospital shifts finish around then also. The driver has no idea where you are going till you get in the car so there is no reason to cancel the fare. Uber will tell them if its over a 30 minute trip which are far and few between in Cairns but still doesn't give the destination.

No schools or hospitals between the Airport and Smithfield.
The traffic jams are between the CBD and Airport from 3pm till about 6pm.
Coming IN not so bad but going TO Airport best leave before 3pm.

Did, you get paid a little more and know your destination before picking the passenger up. Didi is a lot more popular nowadays.

I didn't say there were, i've lived in Cairns for twenty years and drive for a living so know when the jams are! At that time of day the cars are busy because of the schools and hospital change over so the surge is often on.
