And its booked! Thanks for your help everyone

After years of saving points I've finally managed to book our RTW business Class :) for Aug - Sep next year.
CBR-SYD QF
SYD-HKG(QF)-CDG(CX)
FCO-AMM-DBX (RJ)
DBX-HKG (CX)
HKG-SYD(CX)-CBR (QF)

280k Tax x 2 + $1025 taxes x 2

Had some issues with online availability ... what it said was available didn't end up being availably so I had to phone and the nice qantas guy helped me out.

Its all business except the first CBR - SYD.

Scores some pretty good seats too, Particularly excited about 11A and 11K HKG - CDG.

Im not overly excited about the transit time in HK on the way to Paris, so I might see if I can tighten that up over time - Can anyone best advise on how to best go about changing that? Obviously there is a points fee - but it seems it can't be done online? So I'd have to just check availability and phone up I'm guessing!

Ive been reading this forum for a number of years and gaining knowledge to do this booking and I just wanted to say thank you for the advice I've accumulated this has been really valuable.

Thanks again!

Matt

This looks like a great trip! Just for clarity, was this booked as a OneWorld RTW product or a OneWorld Circle Trip Explorer? Just asking because I thought the RTW itinerary absolutely requires crossing the Atlantic and the Pacific.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

That's a good question I really don't know? I booked it through QFF and it just comes up as Oneworld Award .. 280k business

This is a classic QANTAS Frequent Flyer oneworld award - books into U class (hopefully for every segment) as per the thread title.

The classic oneworld award, amongst other things, requires travel on two oneworld carrier other than Qantas with a distnace limitation. There is NO requirement to circumnavigate the world.

See this thread for more information: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ogram/oneworld-award-140k-280k-420k-8228.html

Actually it seems that QF do not use the same terminology for these awards as for paid OneWorld products. I've spent so much time reading the fare rules for RTW and Circle explorer on EF and Oneworld website...this is all so confusing:confused: Now if only I could stop burning all my points on upgrades maybe I could finally accumulate 280K points:)

Note: Serfty answered my question while I was typing

Well done on avoiding LHR!
Out of curiosity did you get charged the phone assistance fee when you booked this?
