I'm wondering if some viewers are experiencing a "Quantum of Solace" moment with S2? Casino Royale set such a high bar for Daniel Craig's tenure as Bond that Quantum of Solace was almost guaranteed to be a comparative disappointment even if it wasn't a bad film. I wonder if the same is happening here for some folks in that S1 of The Night Manager was such an outstanding series that S2 is letting some folks down a bit?
Out of curiosity (and without giving away too much for those who haven't already watched), what aren't you liking about it?

You will see Olivia Coleman.I think too many irrelevant flashbacks happening for the first episode so you get confused as to what you are watching and when. I kept hoping to see links. From one of the scenes I thought that Roper was identified in the present but it was 6 years earlier. And was hopeful that his demise was a part of the show but he isn't and other than the one mercenary he remembers, and his son, the two series are not really linked as such. Was also hoping to see Olivia Coleman again.
And the 10 years didn't treat Pine kindly. Shame.

I get where you're coming from, however I strongly recommend persisting if you haven't already done so. Personally, I think it's well worth it.
