Turkish Airlines Australian Services

Oooohhhh that really interrupts sleeping then
Yes’ish’… the IST-KUL/SIN legs are round 10-11 hours depending on direction, so it’s much the same as taking SQ or QF via SIN in terms of timing.

However, the TK flight lands in Sydney in the evening around 8pm or so? So sleep might not be your priority for the sector out of KUL as you’ll be heading home for a good night’s sleep and hopefully up the next morning without jet lag! If you get a good sleep into KUL you’ll be pretty much on Aussie time.

They were planning to launch the IST<>SYD and then IST<>MEL nonstops with their new A35Ks, I think starting late this year? So is it possible the single-IST-stop itinerary is true, planning for those flights to have commenced?

Thank you. Hopefully by next year they might have more "direct " style flights

Turkish Airlines (THY) this week filed service changes to Sydney for Northern winter 2026/27 season, as the 5 weekly flights to be operated via Singapore, instead of Kuala Lumpur, from 26OCT26 to 27MAR27.

The carrier’s 5 weekly A350-900 Istanbul – Singapore – Sydney service are as follows. Note reservations for TK022/023 service are not available at time this post goes to press, therefore Sydney is temporarily not available for reservations during Northern winter season.

Turkish Airlines will continue to operate 3 weekly Istanbul – Singapore – Melbourne flights with A350-900. The carrier’s overall service for Singapore will increase from 17 to 22 weekly, while Kuala Lumpur reduced from 19 to 14 weekly.

I wanted to book this flight but it appears to be "Full":

I am quite concerned as I can only fly Business Class in and out of Australia, and not having seats means we may have to fly with someone else.

Give it a couple of days I suspect.

Presume this means that Malaysian authorities were unwilling to give TK 5th freedom rights.
