Sooo rather ready for a holiday over to UK however Mr Terry's health isn't behaving so I am watching the fares for Nov/Dec this year just see who has deals and kinda when they have deals

Turkish Airlines is someone hadn't considered but it came up as a choice last night. Two stops over with the departure from Sydney on Thai but coming home just the standard one stop in Istanbul

Any pros or cons ? We would be travelling business. Like the idea as it would be new airline and airports

Pros - three free nights in Istanbul as a stopover; excellent catering; can book points to SQ.
Cons - that ‘one stop flight’ is actually two stops (SIN for MEL, KUL for SYD); the new business seat is tight while the old one lacks direct aisle access for some seats; lounge in IST is usually crowded.

Yes’ish’… the IST-KUL/SIN legs are round 10-11 hours depending on direction, so it’s much the same as taking SQ or QF via SIN in terms of timing.

However, the TK flight lands in Sydney in the evening around 8pm or so? So sleep might not be your priority for the sector out of KUL as you’ll be heading home for a good night’s sleep and hopefully up the next morning without jet lag! If you get a good sleep into KUL you’ll be pretty much on Aussie time.
