I read that yesterday. Seems a bit dodgy from the hotel and a little bit of false info in the thread.

Hooroo Pty Ltd (which trades as Jetstar and Qantas hotels) is an associated entity of Qantas, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways Limited - run as seperate teams.

From working in accommodation and dealing with Hooroo directly, they are a pain if you need to contact them. But otherwise works ok.
Hotels obtain a VCC from their portal to charge on date of check in, only valid for the contracted amount.
 
Qantas gleefully treats their loyal customers with disdain and contempt. It’s a Low Cost Carrier experience at Premium prices. So why take your chances with Qantas Hotels? Even if it is “a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways Limited - run as seperate teams”, it’s just another extension of the insidious culture and customer service that is riddled throughout Qantas Airlines.

If Qantas offered their own branded health insurance, electricity and Internet services, would you take them up? Hell no. Just think of the horrendous experience with the South African and Fijian call centres for starters. But if all of that heartache is worth a few measly Qantas points (great for toasters), then fill your boots. Just don’t come back here complaining about how they screwed you over and didn’t look after you when it all hits the fan.
