The trip is getting more complex - D0 on some segments so just planning a rerouting. The issue now is the US weekend trip. The direct flights to BGI have no D availability - and I am not sure I want to go via MIA (equally not sure if I can go via MIA on this itinerary). It might be easier to just have a day trip to DFW and then have a chilling day in NYC.

I dont see that there would be an issue going through MIA if you want to. Also, you may be interested in considering doing BGI-LGW on BA rather thna going back through New York ( since BGI is not in the USA , it is eligable for AA mileage accrual )

One thing I am trying to work out is how many segments the following flights amount to:

Code:
17-Mar	HKG-SFO	16:30	13:25	CX872
17-Mar	SFO-MIA	21:15	05:20	AA392
18-Mar	MIA-MCO	07:45	08:45	AA404

I can book the SFO-MIA-MCO as a single trip - but not sure how many flights count for the DONE4 - there is no direct flight SFO-MCO...

Re the BGI back to UK - I will check that out. I would probably fly AA to UK anyway rather than BA as I dont like the club world seat - maybe that was just a bad experience...

Edit

The BGI trip is my middle weekend so I have to go back to NYC. However I amnot averse to going back from JFK to LON via BGI...

Just a final one - on expertflyer for the two class domestic US I am looking A inventory yeah as there is no D?

SFO-MIA-MCO on different flight numbers is two Segments. e.g. MEL-LAX-JFK booked as QF25/QF107 is two segments; SYD-LAX-JFK booked as QF107/QF107 is two segments and SYD-JFK booked as QF107 is one segment, even though it stops at LAX.

Can't comment; leave to those with the experience.

Absolutely, If you see Fn An Pn Yn Bn Ln...; with NO mention of J, D or I then it's a two class flight and A is what you are after.

OK - here it is -the latest itinerary!

Code:
Date	Trip	Dep	Arr	Flt no.	Avail.
17-Mar	SYD-HKG	08:35	14:50	cx110	d9
17-Mar	HKG-LAX	16:25	13:50	CX882	d5
17-Mar	LAX-MIA	19:00	20:20	AA1798	A1
18-Mar	MIA-MCO	07:45	08:45	AA404	A6
21-Mar	MCO-LGA	20:45	23:20	AA1832	A4
24-Mar	LGA-ORD	09:00	10:40	AA313	A7
24-Mar	ORD-LGA	14:45	18:00	AA362	A7
29-Mar	JFK-BGI	10:05	14:40	AA1385	D7
29-Mar	BGI-LGW	18:55	08:00	BA2152	D6
30-Mar	LHR-LCA	14:55	21:30	BA6842	D6
2-Apr	LCA-LHR	16:50	19:50	BA663	D7
2-Apr	LHR-HKG	22:15	17:50	CX254	D9
3-Apr	HKG-SYD	21:10	07:55	QF128	D9
12-Apr	SYD-BNE	xx	xx	xx
15-Apr	BNE-SYD	xx	xx	xx

Based on availability I now have to fly into LGW and get to LHR - not sure how that happenes and whether I will need to collect bags - I assume so ...Not much of a drama. Sadly no availability into PFO on those dates :(

I will need to leave the BNE dates open as that isnt fully planned as yet.

I will email this off shortly to our travel co-ordinator in the US for her to send off off. My main concern is the lack of A availability on the LAX-MIA flights - hopefully that wont go overnight tonight - if it does I might have to rethink a lot of this.

Only 38,702 miles and I estimate (assuming all A flights book into First) ) 87,605FF points and 58,268 qpoints - so at least I will requalify for PLAT...

Ok - not sure if anyone is still following this but its all now boked (subject to maybe changing BNE for OOL in April). I have been through and picked what seats I can at the moment. I think I have worked out lounge access as well although a couple of questions remain. The flights are now:

Code:

QF	533	BNE	04/15/2007 02:15 PM	SYD	04/15/2007 03:45 PM	Business	unassigned	QP	No connection

The questions are:

Is there a lounge I can use in BGI? I could see anything on the BA/QF website :(
Will I get lounge access JFK-BGI? I have seen something on either the AA or oneworld websites say that if flying internationally in J you can get access but cant it based on status.
Given I have a long transit at both LAX and BGI I am hoping that I can check my baggage all the way through both times and still leave the airport - although not sure what I will do in either place for a few hours.
I cant decide on Wing or Pier - going to be in the J lounge not F :'( so not sure what will be best at HKG.
Just looking at the seats I am wondering if anyone has some interesting suggesitons.

This whole trip should be locked away shortly - and I will be 58% of the way to EXP!

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

At HKG I would take whatever is closest to your gate - you only have a short time there anyway.

At LAX you will need to collect bags on arrival to take through customs. If your bags were through checked then you can re-deposit, otherwise you'll need to keep them with you until you check in (no luggage storage).

Thanks - I will be checking mu luggage through to MCO then and doing the luggage carousel shuffle :D

simongr, from the BA Website

You can access the lounges listed if:
  • you travel in FIRST, Club World, Club Europe or on a BA Connect fully flexible ticket
  • you are a Gold or Silver Executive Club member
And there is a 'Third Party Lounge' listed for BGI, so I presume you can access that given you're flying J. Hope so anyway.:)

Strange - I am sure I checked on the BA site earlier and couldnt find Barbados...
