I can understand paying US$350 for 1 night but would you pay this for a 2 week stay. I don't know New York that well but I am sure one can find reasonable accommodation for a lot less than US$350/night especially if the holiday was self funded.

NM do you check sites such as priceline or travelzoo? For eg. IIRC Sheraton NYC is offering rooms now for US$150/ night until March or thereabouts. Another example; if you want a true bargain, the Ritz Carlton in Osaka is offering rooms at about Aus$150/ night now via the travelzoo JP site.NM said:But for NY I would expect to be paying at least $250. For business travel, I would not be happy paying $500 but would pay that if it was all that was available for a business-class hotel. I do not class the New Yorker as a business-class hotel. It is Y all the way.
As I am not planning a personal/leisure trip to NY anytime soon, I have not been checking such sites.BlacKnox said:NM do you check sites such as priceline or travelzoo? For eg. But all this talk is late-minute related, and I understand any desire to secure rooms early (= no stress).
