Travelling to HNL - best price and minimal stopovers

would be keen to gather some thoughts on what is the best possible connection to fly to honolulu in Jan 2016.

Originating destination would be Sydney
as its a peak season, would love to save some $$$

fly from Brisbane seems to be lowest price with Jetstar

keen to get thoughts on any other destinations, airlines that I can connect thru.

Of course direct are JQ and Hawaiian Air or via Sydney is QF (not sure if QF go out of BNE) or via Fiji Airways and that's it, wont be cheap school hols.

There's also Air New Zealand via Auckland, though I wouldn't expect them to be particularly cheap.
