Too much kale?

Edit: How fantastic are Brussels Sprouts?

Cooked the right way. ie Brussel Sprouts and Almonds is delicious ;)

And while yes the right way is important with all foods I can enjoy say a nice tomato just in itself, or say a potato in any of 101 that it can be cooked. Just baked in its own jacket is delicious. But Brussel Sprouts can a horrid if simply dished up bolit!

Pleased to see some healthier options being offered.
Kale by itself is rather boring but can be easily Jazzed up with the addition of a vinaigrette and into a nice salad.

I would love to see more low GI options, including bread rolls which can be purchased from the likes of Bakers Delight..... although they aren’t cheap.

Broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, capsicum, carrots, corn, cabbage, beans ect... so many other good choices, compared to Kale.

At some point of a trip, all I want is a plate of veggies.

I agree. But I still love kale. As long as there are veggies I'm happy

Kale, rocket and spinach are the devil's invention to put a curse on mankind. I am certain of it!

What a totally rubbish menu, clearly designed by females for females (95% of the world's dietitians are females) who haven't got a clue what men want. In their feminist. anti-hunter world view, the absolute most red meat any man should eat is what fits well inside the palm of his hand - thus one T-bone steak would feed a family of four.

The last time I had such a rubbish meal equivalent to those listed by the OP on a full service flight, was on a British Airways flight from Melbourne to Bangkok back in 2005. By the time I got to Bangkok I was utterly ravenous and went hunting for hamburgers. I have totally avoided British Airways since and, just in case, have always taken several packets of beef jerky on every flight since then - in case I came across another such dud airline.

Given these new girly menus, if I do fly Qantas again with reward points, I'll be taking beef jerky and cans of tuna meals.
Regards,
Renato

Menu Select for QF11 SYD-LAX Wed 14 Mar:

Salad of smoked salmon with kale and cabbage slaw.
Smoked salmon with a salad consisting of kale, cabbage, carrots and beetroot, dressed with a tangy mayonnaise.

Vegetable lasagne with spinach and béchamel.
Roasted vegetables are layered with sheets of pasta spinach, béchamel sauce and cheese then baked until golden brown.

Southern style chicken with polenta, kale, broccoli and onion gravy.
Southern American style chicken with polenta and onion gravy, accompanied by kale, broccoli and leek.

Kale with both non-vegetarian options.

One cannot escape the kale, except by going vegetarian (which is somewhat ironic!).

I can’t remember which flight I was on when I had the same choices. The other half and I both opted for the vegetarian lasagne as we both HATE kale with a passion. We shook our heads to see 2 out of 3 choices containing kale....ugh

I see those workplace workshops on how to empower and mentor women are working real well for you... not. :p:eek:

Just wondering Mattg, how does one approach that?

Just take the whole stalk or rip off a leaf or 2? Not sure of the etiquette here? Best left alone for fear of upsetting a vegan after I just consumed the butter next to it...

I have absolutely no idea! No one has touched it for the last 2 hours...
