Hmmm. A few people were drinking it and the two bottles vanished pretty fast so I'm surprised it could go flat that quickly.

Champagne, and carbonated drinks, will go flatter faster at altitude because of the reduction in air pressure.

I actually found my Dom went flat, but then, maybe I didnt drink it as fast as I didnt enjoy it as much as the Krug.

QF dont seem to have an issue with Taittinger going flat so not sure why JL do.
Quality control?

Yes, the Taittinger ran out before the dinner service

IME very few pax seem to be drinking prior to dinner on QF10. Might be the reason they don't load much. I usually have no or very little alcohol ex-DXB, sleep and have some wine with dinner pre-arrival in MEL.
I think many pax do the reverse though.

Didn't check but I think they load about the same based on my experiences. I had champagne running out on QF10 (ex DXB) about half way through the flight and on QF1 (ex SYD) after just couple of hours!

I was told they load 7 bottles which is ridiculous considering the size of the F cabin, length of the flight and number of WP/P1s in J who also share some of it.

They popped a few bottles before departure (I had 3-4 glasses easily). I had some bubbles with supper but wasnt offered a top up. But by meal time there wasnt any left and we were offered the Jacquart from J.

Dinner service. I put in my order and sat patiently while my table was set. Then some disappointing news, when the FA came out to tell me she had bad news. The first class champagne had run out!
I opted for a glass of the J bubbles but I'm not a huge fan compared with what I had been drinking

Soup to start

Then I switched to the Cab Shiraz with the main. This was delicious and I would have loved a larger serve.

Again the side salad was no where to be seen.

Dessert was also yum. I forgot to ask for dessert wine. And no cheese course :erm:

And not longer after, we were on finals into Melbourne. I wasn't quite ready to get off, so we were lucky the CSM arranged for us to visit the flight deck before we left the plane.

The smart gates were quick and easy, luggage took a while (doesn't it always) then we were straight through customs and in our chauffeur car and on the way home. And just like that, our suite adventure was over. Now we start planning for the next one :D
