After almost two years of planning, from saving the points to locking in the award seats, we are about to head off on what we consider a trip of a lifetime.
With only two weeks of time off work available to us, we decided to squeeze in both Japan and Italy; somewhere new for me (Japan) and somewhere we both love (Italy). This is a massive bucket list trip for us; neither of us has flown proper F before and we are really looking forward to checking out the different products, and champagne of course!

Flights:
MEL-SIN on SQ F (777)
SIN-NRT on SQ R (A380)

HND-LHR on JAL F (777)
LHR-FCO on BA J

LIN-LHR on BA Y (let's not talk about that one, it exists mostly to avoid APD)
LHR-DXB-MEL on QF F (A380)

T-4. Eeyore can't wait.

Sounds like a great - plenty of delicious dishes in those locations. Looking forward to reading more!

Have a great trip. I am looking forward to enjoying it vicariously with you.

Oh, BA J intra-Europe is quite underwhelming - You have been warned!

I didn't mind BA's Club Europe (fancy name for J-class on European flights), but did find the lack of leg room a little surprising. This from Heathrow to Stockholm last year (on the 767):

Food and booze (Pol Roger) was great, and agree with others that food in Japan is bloody brilliant. Much cheaper than I anticipated - a very pleasant surprise.

Have fun!

Can be a bit less underwhelming if sitting in row 1.
On a recent flight the guy behind me complained loudly: "not only the seats are exactly the same as in economy but there barely any more legroom".
Needless to say moments later I lost my shadow...

Are you going to do Book The Cook and have you settled on your Suites seats? Then Krug or Dom or both ?

T-4? Time to go into trip safe mode. Avoid anyone who looks ill; watch where you are stepping and imagine you are dieting to make sure you can splurge a bit more on the trip!

Cook booked and seats selected. Looking forward to trying the Krug as we've had Dom before.

3 days to go now. I've been avoiding all sick people for a few weeks. And lost almost 7kg in anticipation.

I'm signed in. Love trip reports.
Exciting for you both and a touch of jealousy from me.
