TomCat's new digs!

It’s awful to think of the wonderful water we flush down the toilet. In the grip of the drought and attending the footy I would hear all the public toilets flush multiple times a second and just think what a waste they didn’t use recycled.

Most major, and even many minor, sporting facilities are big recyclers of water these days and/or harvest rainwater. Some like the MCG even "mine" sewer water from other users and in this case a major nearby sewer main.

Hidden beneath the carpark at the MCG there is a major water recycling/treatment plant that produces more than 180 million litres of recycled water each year, reducing the MCC’s use of potable water by 50 per cent, and is yes used amongst other things to flush the toilets.

Looking good... but had to laugh at the idea of your neighbours having a ride on a lawn mower and once the house is built, this will be them :)

Do you know what your neighbours will be building? To figure out the impact their builds will have on yours?

Hopefully that's the start of a great street/neighbourhood community.

I hope so. We both have cats and dogs, so bonded over that. She suggested maybe we could keep an eye on their place when they go on their honeymoon which is absolutely fine. It's good to already know a few people that will be in our street courtesy of the estate facebook group.

Ha that's exactly why I'm not allowed to buy one! :p:rolleyes: I assume they rented/borrowed it. Its a tough gig getting a whole block mowed before you hand over to your builder. No idea what will be on either side of us as yet, but the blocks are smaller than ours so more likely a single storey home.

Seems like everything is working out well for the TomCats
I've got a 25L drum of Glypho 520, shame I can't get some to you.
We've got a big bottle of weed killer, just need a new pump spray bottle and we're good to go.

Broker is trying to untangle the stamp duty mess, seems the conveyancer failed to provide the appropriate paperwork. In fact, the conveyancer that I had been dealing with for almost a year vanished days before settlement and we got lumped with someone else, so not a surprise that things were not completed properly. Fortunately our bank has a promo to pay for the conveyancer fees so that's also being sorted out.

Waiting very impatiently for our final plans and permit now.

There really needs to be an ‘oh no’ or sympathy button in addition to the Like, Agree, Informative ones. Liking just doesn’t seem right.

Bank has paid conveyancer rebate, so that's something. Still trying to get response from conveyancer re overpaid stamp duty.

Estate sales rep rang me to let me know he's asked the developer to fix our crossover, as it was damaged before settlement. Rather amusing moment when I answered the phone and he couldn't remember his own name :D

Gave the builder another nudge this morning. We're at 5 weeks since settlement, with an 8-10 week prebuild period. She's expecting them to apply for the building permit at the end of next week . Drafting are still working on our plans. Permit should only take a week and she expects us to be handed to construction at the end of March. So build unlikely to start until April now :(

By memory, for our KDR, we have to supply a bond to council for the already broken, out of alignment, skipping hazard footpath. I will be taking lots of photos as evidence.

Yep! Council currently has $2500 of my cash for the footpath out the front of our place, I better get that money back!

Yeah there is some asset protection levy/bond that gets paid when the permit is approved. But I dont want to be out of pocket for damage that was pre-existing/caused by the developer.

Council does an inspection prior and takes photos. So you never pay for existing damage. It just has to be in 'like for like' condition to get your money back.
