Well it's more of a 'club' where you get pre-access to specials than simple a mailing list.

What a bunch of pretentious snobs here. I am another who will fly Tiger when the price and timing is right. Get over yourselves, bogans fly first class too.

Yes bogans are found in F and J but pretentious snobs can be found on LCCs.

Well I too am from Tasmania, and certainly hope I do not fit the Bogan stereotype!

My earlier comments around not flying Tiger don't stem from any sort of airline snobbery......but I have seen enough of their cancellations, additional charges and inflexible rules, and as a consumer I have the opportunity to choose where to "gamble" my hard earned cash!

Mind you it is not just Tiger which suffers from these problems, a funeral in Sydney on Friday was missing a couple of key people due to Jetstar's decision to cancel the first flight out of OOL! Attitude was simply " too bad to sad"!

So I am afraid for my ex Tasmania fligths I will stick with Virign Blue....where I might pay $50 more for my ticket initially, but I do get free luggage, can check in at the airport without extra charge, earn FF points, and have the frequency that if something does go wrong with a flight they will re-accommodate.

Ultimately ....to each his own, and Tiger does meet the needs of many non Bogan travellers!

I'm from the country that has bogan ville as one of its provinces. The people from bogan ville regard themselves as superior to the mainlanders (they won the war). Which just goes to prove you can be a bogan and a pretentious snob as well!!

It is really just a version of a paid loyalty scheme, where you can get first dibs on sale prices.

Tiger seems to be one of those companies where people divide into two groups:

1) Those that fly Tiger because they are cheap
2) Those that wouldn't touch Tiger with a 10 foot barge pole.

Clearly, Stripes is aimed at the first group, and by all accounts they have had several thousand sign up since they launched the program.

So if thousands have already signed up (as claimed), you're saying you paid to have pre-access to unknown specials with thousands of others?

The PNG bogans aren't gun shy when it comes to using them either. I colleague of mine was shot at in a chopper whilst evacuating a person the bogans wanted to get their hands on.

Apart from being shot in the rrrrs & losing a fingertip he's good as gold.

There is a story about Tiger charging this fee on Yahoo that's got about 120 comments including one from a person that's obviously got the rough end of the Pineapple with regard to a refund & has posted phone contact details for TT folk.

The Yahoo post is on page 6 with posts 51-60.

Well I did have some good experiences with TT (with cheap prices) so it really is hit and miss with them!
