Tiger scraps Queensland flight routes | News.com.au

The article states that "Tiger says it will offer refunds or make alternative arrangements for passengers who made bookings past the suspension date."

I'd like to know what sort of alternative arrangements they will make, will it be a case of they will book you onto a corrisponding QF \ JQ \ DJ flight, or will they simply state "Pick somewhere else to go"

A bit hard to "pick somewhere else" if starting in Qld

The key statement in the article (so you know the change) is: "The airline has announced it would suspend its Brisbane-Adelaide and Gold Coast-Adelaide flights from November 10."

The Cynic in me ponders "did a govt/airport subsidy to supply a certain amount of capacity in ADL finish" recently.;)

If they scrap them, where are the deploying their planes? They lowered the frequencies of a number of ADL routes (eg ADL-SYD).

Tiger took a hammering today on ABC Adelaide talkback with 2 women who rang about flights cancelled last week.
Definately bad publicity for tiger and quite emotional.
I did my last Tiger flight ever on the second last flight from Hobart, which became the last from Hobart when they cancelled the last actual flight.
You get what you pay for, but in Tigers case, you get even less.

If they wanted to make the adelaide flights work, why not increase the price by 10%, and rund the flights 3 days a week instaed of 5.
If they really wanted the business, they would try harder.
it is also rumored that the SA government gave them a significant sum in offsets or something to get set up in Adelaide. not sure how true it is, but if correct, some of the local ministers may be a little peeved.

And AVV_BNE_ROK, which will now be operated by one of the aircraft ex ADL.
