Hello. Could I confirm that for a straightforward classic reward booking, I should not be receiving a text format ticket? This is a Syd - JFK and return award booking. So far there is only a PDF whereas my OWA is a full text format. And, why the difference?

Thanks!

It sure is a nuisance when adding it to Trip It!
Thanks!
Is this all on Qantas metal (the new QF 3 / QF4 )? I'd make sure it's actually ticketed, which it seems the best way now is to use the Finnair or Royal Jordanian web sites to manage your booking and check if there is an e-ticket number present. If the itinerary involves partner airlines and there is no e-ticket number present, you'll need to follow this up right away as your reservation is subject to cancellation.

Yes - thanks. I have done this and confirmed the ticket number. I have also subsequently managed to load it to TripIt (and removed that part from the message)
It's not all QF. There is one leg to Haneada on JL but returning is indeed QF4......

I believe the text format is a product derived directly from the Amadeus system. As long as it contains the e-ticket number. I believe you don’t need the airline nicely formatted PDF type. If not, someone will correct me I’m sure. 😊

The courier font, text only e-ticket is only generated when the itinerary is manually processed for ticketing.

You would typically expect only to receive a PDF e-ticket for both a oneworld award and the simple redemption booking.

Oh of course. Thanks, kpro. That would be right. My first OWA was a PDF. It was only when I went through the torture of changing my bookings that I started to get the text version. Solved!

Yes - I think all the tickets come from Amadeus. That's why I was so surprised. But it could well be....
Qantas bookings are done through the Amadeus system, but usually you get the Qantas formatted PDF as your e- ticket. People usually only get the text format when they’ve requested immediate ticketing, from the helpline I think. As long as the text format version contains the e-ticket number, you are good to go.
