Through check on separate tickets with Etihad

I have an EY J booking AUH-BKK coming up, will then need to fly BKK-HKG on EK, TG, or CX booked on a separate ticket.

Will EY at AUH be willing to check me through all the way with any or all of those carriers, or not?

I have never been able to get an EY Staff to through-check me - even with close partners (VA/HX/AF/KL).

Some reports on FlyerTalk that some were successful out of India with an EY-ticketed sector and AA-ticketed sector to the US.
